If you add only a little to a little and do this often, soon that little will become great.
— The ancient Greek poet Hesiod

635 AND COUNTING

That’s how many Christmas baskets this month’s Antonios Kounalakis Award winners have prepared and delivered to the elderly. Read more about this incredible husband-and-wife team here.

2.

FINAL JEOPARDY

The category is Greek Mythology. Ryan and Stephanie blew it. Will you?

3.

HAVE A HELLA RAD SUMMER, HERA!

“Researchers in the United Kingdom have found that an ancient Greek inscription on a 2,000-year-old marble tablet is actually something resembling a yearbook for a graduating class.”

4.

CROWDS

Apparently, these islands have magnificent hotels and beaches without the crowds.

5.

CHARIOTS

I saw Chariots of Fire with my dad at the movie theater when it came out in 1981. My dad loved that film for so many reasons. My dad ran track in college. Running was his thing. So was music. So was finding all of the Greek names in film credits. But I digress. The instrumental theme song in Chariots of Fire was an act of unparalleled creative genius. It not only captured the spirit of the film perfectly, but it captured the power, beauty, and sheer will of the human spirit, as well. Thank you, Vangelis. May your memory be eternal.

6.

LEGO MY EGGO, HOMER!

Forget all of the contributions ancient Greeks have made to medicine, engineering, philosophy, and theater. The ancient Greeks had a strong waffle game, too.

7.

DIVERS AND DALLAS

Divers from all over Europe are trying to protect marine life by clearing tons of nets on the Greek coast.

A man in Dallas smashed $5M worth of Ancient Greek artifacts at a museum because he was mad at his girlfriend.

8.

IN THE TIME IT TAKES TO FOLD A LOAD OF LAUNDRY

You can sound like you are an Alexander the Great expert. You may even pick up an English accent while you’re at it. Listen while you fold.

9.

DRIVING US CRAZY

The worst drivers in Europe. Guess where a stop sign is simply a suggestion.

10.

AT HOME

In Mani, Greece

And in a new hotel in Samos.

Are you sick and tired of COVID-19? So are we. But we know people first-hand who are still getting terribly sick when they contract it. That’s why we are continuing to help keep our loved ones, our community, and ourselves safe by refraining from large indoor gatherings. When we do gather indoors with others, we are continuing to wear face coverings because we have no way of knowing what germs we may be carrying or how susceptible someone else’s immune system may be to whatever we might possibly transmit. Keeping our community healthy is a team sport.
